RE: theft from house at 1065 Zeitler Rd. on 2011.11.30

My house was robbed on November 30, 2011, near the same time that four other homes on the same road were robbed in a string of similar crimes in the area (number varies by source; between 6 and 10 or more).

Approximately $6000 of photographic equipment was stolen, replacement value for similar condition used, as detailed at the end of this statement.

List of items stolen:

A list of stolen equipment follows; one of item each unless noted, with replacement costs checked today. Most of this stuff is no longer manufactured; only the D700 and 24mm lens are still sold new.

The new camera price is from Cameta Camera [http://www.cameta.com](a mail-order company from whom I bought the D700) and some other items including one of the seven lenses, partial aggregate lens hood prices, and all other accessories are from B&H Photo [http://www.bhphotovideo.com], where much of it was bought. Second-hand prices for the two film camera bodies and six of the seven lenses as well as partial aggregate lens hood prices are from KEH Camera [http://www.keh.com], a reputable and decently-priced retailer of used professional photo equipment from whom I have bought lenses and other equipment over the years. Their prices and condition descriptions reflect realistic market value thus one can base actual condition replacement values on their listings.

I have tried to give the cost of replacing the equipment in similar condition as if I were going to do so at my own expense. Because nearly all of the photography I do is, by choice, with old professional 35mm film cameras, most of what I lost isn't sold new anymore. Thus it's not possible to get it all on one place, and some of the items such as the 50mm 1.4 lens and lens hood, some of the older lens caps, etc. are becoming quite highly sought and thus expensive or rare, while other stuff is still readily available. The prices are probably less than similar e-bay prices.

Camera bodies:

1. Nikon D700 digital SLR camera, serial #2096015 [lens was attached as noted below]. Bought 27 months ago new; current retail price $2,849.00 (Cameta camera, where I bought it).
   
   
2. Nikkormat (Nikon) FT-N film SLR camera, #4491910 (black body) [no lens was attached; camera had a body cap on]. Approximate replacement value for similar condition camera $190 (based on similar condition at KEH)
   
   
3. Nikon FM2n film SLR camera #7319174 (black body) [lens was attached as noted below]. Approximate replacement value for similar condition camera $350 (based on similar condition at KEH)
   
   

Camera lenses; all manual focus; the first part of the description is verbatim as written on the lens. All lenses are black with the exception of the 50mm 1.4 as noted:

1. Nikkor 24mm 1:2.8 741485 (AI). New retail price $529.95 (bhphotovideo.com).

3. Nikkor 50mm 1:1.8 3260058 AI [this lens was attached to the FM2n]. Used price this condition $150 (KEH).
   
   
4. Nikkor-S Auto 1:1.4 f=50mm 1142532 (AI'd) [this lens is about half silver and half black; it was attached to the D700]. Used price ~$200 (based on lower condition listing at KEH).
   
   
5. Nikkor 105mm 1:2.5 844349 (AI). Used price this condition $200 (KEH).
   
   
6. Nikon lens series E zoom 75~150mm 1:3.5 3044022. Used price this condition $180 (KEH).
   
   
7. Zoom-Nikkor 80-200mm 1:4 268173 Nikon (AI). Used price this condition $200 (KEH).

1. Lens hoods for all lenses; approximate cost used $20/each = $140

3. Nikon EN-EL3e Rechargeable Lithium-Ion Battery[in D700]. New retail price $39.95 (bhphotovideo.com).
   
   
4. Tamrac 604 camera bag (dark green cordura material, appx. 30cm x 25cm x 20cm). New retail price for similar $149.95 (bhphotovideo.com).
   
   
5. Three 'SanDisk 8gb extreme 3' compact flash (memory) cards. Bought new $163.17 total (from bhphotovideo.com).
   
   
6. Non-Nikon brand remote electronic shutter release for D700. New retail price $39.95 (bhphotovideo.com).
   
   
7. Other stuff in camera bag and attached to cameras: neck straps, mechanical shutter-releases, lens and camera tools, lens cleaners, body and lens caps, etc. ~$200 for some used and some new as applicable.
   
   
8. Sekonic brand L-508 digital light meter in good working condition. The only place I was able to see a used replacement value was on ebay; sales in recent weeks have been between a low of $200 and high of 250 in similar condition. Thus I place the replacement value at $240. I do not have a serial number for this item at the moment.
