Here are 195 photos of or closely related to Lake Superior stones (and rock, etc.). I put this set together after a request by a Northern Michigan University theatre professor to be used in the reading of a new play, the pictures to be projected over the readers. I'm not sure if she needed all 195, but I had fun selecting them.
They were shot between ~1989 and 2010. There are a very few that are from not Lake Superior, but if you can't tell which ones it doesn't matter, and if you can tell then you understand already.
I don't really know much about the play itself, since I haven't seen or read it, but it was described one place I found thus: 'The new play written by Dr. Shelley Russell titled "Water Woman" is an ecodrama exploring the effects of nature on the mind and our muses.' Yes - it drives me crazy, too.
They're all indexed here on one long web page, and when you press on them you get just a ~1200 x 800 pixel jpg instead of a fancy display like the other pages, at least for now. That's because the page'd take too long to load otherwise with all on one, and I sort of like the whole big batch of mini-pix together. Some of the photos appear in other sets on this website, and some are 'new', but all are at least differently post-processed versions here, dimensioned and with mellow enough jpeg compression to be decent-looking if projected 30 feet wide over actors..
